Kongosan

This summer vacation was nine days from August 7th to 15th, but after an unusual heavy rain and Corona's state of emergency, I ended up spending most of my time at home. However, since it was a break in the rain on August 11th and I happened to go to the southern part of Osaka, we decided to go a little further and go hiking on Mt. Kongo . Arrived at the parking lot of Mt. Kongo around 14:30, we started climbing with a little hiking feeling like Mt. Ibuki the other day, but it was quite hard. It is true that the road is paved, but the mountain trail is quite steep, and since I was relaxing at home during the holidays, my physical strength was weakened, and after walking for 30 minutes, it became almost swaying. Oops. Still, I managed to reach the summit in about 50 minutes. From the front of the mountaintop, the slope became gentle and my breath became quite calm. There are rest areas and an observatory near the summit, and the view from the summit was very good.   After that, we c

Mt. Ibuki

This year is the year of the Olympics, and since July 22nd to 25th was a four-day holiday, I went to Mt. Ibuki, which I had always wanted to visit, on July 24th. The four consecutive holidays were blessed with good weather, and this day was also a perfect day for a resort. It is open all night on the weekend of July and August, and although the Ibukiyama Driveway itself, which leads to the summit, closes at 21:00, but it was possible to stay at the summit by staying in the car. On this day, I left my house after 9 o'clock AM, arrived at Ibukiyama Driveway in about 2 hours using the highway, then ran Ibukiyama Driveway for about 20 minutes and drove to the Sky Terrace parking lot near the mountaintop. We stopped our car and walked from there to the summit for about 30 minutes, and arrived at the summit at 12:30. Ibuki Zyakosou ? Kawara Nadesiko? The area around the mountaintop was cool and really pleasant because it was cloudy on that day, but it became a little hot when the clouds

Covid-19 and vaccine

I was wondering if the corona vaccine vaccination would be a long way off, but suddenly the movement of occupational vaccination accelerated, and our Osaka workers were able to inoculate the occupational area. In my case, I received my first occupational vaccination on July 6th. (As for workplace inoculation in Japan, there were more requests than expected, so new reception has been stopped since then.) In Hirakata City, my father-in-law completed two vaccinations in June, and my parents living in Shizuoka also received the first vaccination at the end of June. Hirakata City has been shipping vaccination tickets for people under the age of 65 since the beginning of this month (I and my wife also received them on July 5). Therefore, even if there is no occupational vaccination, it is possible to inoculate in Hirakata City or in Osaka Prefecture, but in reality, the amount of vaccine has been insufficient, so in Hirakata City. As for vaccination, a postcard has arrived today stating that

New Filofax arrives

Image
I used to use a thin personal organizer, but as the number of sheets increased and it became difficult to use, I decided to change to the normal ring size type(23mm) I used before. I bought a Filofax when I went to England in 1989 and had been using it for almost 10 years, so I like it very much, and the recent Original has a nice color and a nice design, so I thought it was better than before. However, if you buy it at a Japanese retail store, it costs about 16,000 yen(about $160) which is expensive for me, and some Japanese online sites sell it for about 11,000 yen, but there are almost no popular colors, and the type of color you want is still 16,000. I was looking for more and I found that I could get Dark Aqua, which I wanted at a British online shop called Pen Heaven , for about 8000 yen (8700 yen including shipping). I ordered immediately (April 29). However, it took quite a few days from there, and it was March 19 that I finally arrived at my house.  At first, I was looking fo

This year's golden week

Image
During this year's Golden Week, a state of emergency was issued and instructions were given to refrain from moving across prefectures, so I ended up spending a week relaxing at home and in the neighborhood of my house. I thought about staying at a campsite near my house for about one night, but all the campsites were closed, and the riverbed park, barbecue area and parking lot were all closed. The use of the riverbed itself was not prohibited, so the weather was fine on May 3rd and 4th and I went to the riverbed park near my house by bicycle, set up a tent, read a book, and had a cup of tea, spending time playing catch. The riverbed of Hirakata is a place I like very much, and although there are not so many people, it was used by many families while the destination was restricted. Given that it would have been terrible if the parking lot had been opened, I think it was a wise decision to close the parking lot. May 3rd May 4rd However, if you think about it carefully, last year'

Ikuno Korean Town, Tsuruhashi

Image
On this day(March 9th), I happened to take annual leave, and then my wife wanted to go, so we suddenly decided to go to Tsuruhashi Korean Town for lunch. This is officially called Ikuno Korea Town in Osaka , and the last time I went there was in June 2003 , so it's been 20 years since then. Last time I walked from Momodani station, but this time I decided to go from Tsuruhashi station in front of me. This has changed a lot in 20 years, and there are some shops with BTS pictures before entering Koreatown, and even though it is still around 10 o'clock, a group of young women are already walking down the street. From here, Koreatown is finally here. Right after entering the street is today's lunch shop. It was too early, so there weren't many shops or customers, but by the time we finished eating (11:00), the number of people had increased considerably. We were planning to have lunch at this restaurant, but we stopped because it was written on the internet that Tuesday was
