This year, I had 10 days summer holiday but due to coronavirus pandemic, we abandoned going back to my hometown Shizuoka-city and spent days around my home plus short trip like this.  So we did 2 days short trip to Gifu, about 200km from my home. We used the  Goto campaign  which the government supported 30% of hotel fees plus coupons equal to 20% of hotel fees(latter had not yet started on that day). We used comfort hotel Gifu which costs 6800 yen per 3 persons (very cheap!) and 2380 yen support by the Goto campaign so we could stay this hotel about 4400 yen! So we left home at 10:30 am and had driven to Sekigahara which was our first destination. Before there, we ate lunch at Oomi donmaru . It tastes good and the price is low (my donburi costs 600 yen).   Eating lunch, we went to Sekigahara where a big battle was done around the year 1600.  This day was very hot, the temperature was around 38 Celsius so when we climbed up the hill, I was exhausted. We went to fukuchiyama city to watch fukuchiyama-castle. Fukuchiyama Castle has become famous for this year's NHK drama "kirin ga kuru" which is a story of Akechi Mitsuhide who built this castle 400 years before and my wife loved this drama very much and she is eager to watch this castle. This day (24 July) was the second day of 4 days' consecutive national holiday and this day was forecasted to rain little in the mid of the rainy season so we decided to go there. This is " Fukuchiyama hidemitsu museum " which is held for one year. In front of this castle, there are some souvenir shops. After watching this castle, we had tea time at western confectionery mountain .
