GW trip at Tokyo (May 3 - 5, 2019) day 1

This year's spring holiday (Golden week), we plan to go to Tokyo. My wife reserved Jet Star airplane a few months before which is cheaper than going with shinkansen bullet train.
We got up at 3:30 AM and left home at 4:40 to catch the first run.


We arrived at Kansai airport at 6:40 and checked in. Our airplane was scheduled on board at 7:30.





It's my first experience of Cheap flight but it is good, I think. There are many good ideas like simple procedures of check in, checking ticket is printed in plane paper, no food services in plane, bare exit, but these make sense.I like cheap flight !




Arrived at Narita airport and changed to bus to tsukuba center station.
Here is tsukuba center station, then took local bus about 5 min.

We arrivied at JAXA where my wife planed to go.








This center is very good. All are free (except pre-reserved tour,  ¥500/adult) and there are many exhibitions and wonderful. Furthermore, there is some tours and we participated in three tour, one is experiencing big sound of jet engine of rockets, second is special theater with some quesions and last is a tour of JAXA. Last one was needed to reserved thiket. We took 3:00-4:10 pm tour.





This tour's highlight was to see cockpit to International Space Station. This center is organized 24 hours 365 days with relation to NASA. Photo are prohibited but it is very good experience for me.

Then we took tsukuba express to go back to Tokyo.

Before checked in, we stopped by asakusa where my wife and son liked. They both went tokyo several times and they liked there. For me, I seledom went there when I lived Tokyo 20 years ago before marriage so I went there after a long interval. My memory of asakusa is like old japanese town, crowded with men buying house gambling tickets but this time, there are many tourists walking along nakamise streets so It was amazing for me.

I was surprized there is kamiya bar where denki branch (alchol) is famous. My first visit to asakusa was when I was 18 years old, started living at Tokyo, and I went to asakusa and happend to go there.

This building was also famous.

Then took metro asakusa-line and took off at higashi nihon-bashi and checked in.




We are tired but good day.

Earthquake happend in Japan

On Friday afternoon, big earthquake had occured. I worked at office at Osaka. At first, next branch's team used TV conference to Tokyo office and tokyo team said earthquake had occured, and a few seconds later, we felt earthquake. Our office is at 11th floor and swing was very big so we felt very awful if our building was collapsed. It was about 2:30 PM. Afterthat, we switched our TV on and saw what happend in Japan, so our work had almost stopped afterthat. (safely, my house in Osaka and my parents and brother and sister's house in Shizuoka-pref. was safe) Magnitude 8.8 was very huge. Newspapers said it is the biggest magnitude earthquke in japan since authority had a record. Our hometown shizuoka was said to be occurd big earthquake since I was a child 30-40 years ago, so we had many training since i was a junior school, so at first I thought that earthquake at shizuoka had finally happend ! Goldsmith College, UK

When I was a graduated student, I went to London and enjoyed summer school at Goldsmith college for about a month, because I wanted to spend good time at that period. Goldsmith college was located near New Cross station and I stayed at dormitory of this college, because at summer time, dormitory was empty due to the summer vacation time. And I happened to watch Flickr yesterday and search the word "New Cross", then found Goldsmith College's & around this area's picture and felt longing for this town. New Cross is located about half an hour from central London by train, so it is very convenient place to go around central London. And this town is not so big (in another saying, feel a little deserted-looking), so I enjoyed the fist experience of abroad in a relaxing mode, so I liked this town very much. Iga ueno city, Ninja museum

We went to Iga-ueno city to see Ninja show. Recently, my son likes ninja, and he practice how to make syuriken by origami-paper at kindergarden and Iga-ueno is the place where I wanted to go, so we went there at 21 July. It was about 1.5 hour by car and we arrived there about 1 p.m. and ate lunch at okonomiyaki shop " Ito ". This shop is like normal house, and we make okonomiyaki by ourself and we order big size okonomiyaki and big size yakisoba and cost 1230 yen ($12) and tasted very good ! After eating, we went to NINJA MUSEUM of Igaryu . And inside this museum, there hold Ninja show (needed extra cost 300 yen per person) and the last show started at 3 p.m. so we safely watched the last show. This show was very good and after watching this show, my son tried syuriken.  After this show, we walked through this museum and there were tour-guide so they navigate us and telling the story of ninja's life.

Our new family !

He is our new family and he is our first baby! He was born on 28 May, and this Wednesday he came our home from hospital and 4 days had passed. He is very very bouncing baby so my wife couldn't sleep well, but we love him very much. He cried very loudly so we tried to ease him in various ways, and this picture is one of ways to be quiet. (this red material is a rattle and if I shake this rattle, he is very curious about it and hear this rattle's sound and sometimes stop crying!)
